Douglas Laboratories Ayur-Ashwaganda 60 caps
Withania somnifera, also known as Ashwaganda, is an important herb traditionally used in India as part of Ayurvedic medicine. Ashwaganda is traditionally used in Ayurveda for general debility during healing processes, known as convalescence, or old age. Ashwaganda is thought to increase the body’s resistance to biological and chemical stresses, and thus stimulate a person’s general vitality, both physical and emotional. Although the exact mechanism is unknown, it is believed that Ashwaganda exerts its beneficial effects on the body by modulating GABA receptors in the brain. The class of compounds known as withanolides are thought to contribute to Ashwaganda’s beneficial effects on the mind and body.
